Nice little calm spot to get lunch or dinner. The burgers tasted great as well as their sides. The service is good and very nice. Good place to stop if visiting the town.

This restaurant has so much southern charm! We were searching for a lunch spot while traveling. It is well worth the distance from I-40! We enjoyed the BBQ hush puppies, the Firecracker Burger and the Club Sandwich! Definitely worth a visit!

This past Saturday, July 21, 2024, while in the area of Canton, NC, on my way home to Hudson, NC from Kentucky, I searched for food on Google and Southern Porch was at the top of the list. My wife and I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, aside from my wife, kids and granddaughter, that was the best thing I've witnessed this side of heaven. The overall ambiance and the detailed history of the place was especially interesting and a reward within itself. Starting life as a private residence, only to be later sold and converted into a hotel (The Imperial Hotel) for the influx of people as International Paper and Fiber moved into Canton and became one of the first hotels to get electricity. The service was outstanding, second to none. The food was excellent! I had the Lemon and Pepper Seasoned Salmon, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy as well as the Fried Okra. I also had a taste of my wife's Broccoli Casserole. Everything was perfectly seasoned and served fresh and hot. our server was relentlessly working to ensure we were having a great dining experience. Let me tell you, it was the best dining experience I've had in many years. Thank you, Southern Porch, for such a great meal, and history lesson. I will be back again and again.

Great eatery in a historic hotel. Fabulous atmosphere and the food was delicious. Our server Merle was friendly and efficient. Prices are so reasonable too! Highly recommend! (The food was so good that after the first bite I ate half my meal before I remembered to take a pic!)

I went here for the first time with my family. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We ordered fried pickles and pork rinds for our appetizers. They were great tasting. The pickles were sweet and the pork rinds were tasty. I had the pot roast with fried cabbage. It tasted just like homemade. Highly recommend this establishment.

Stopped in on my way back from a hiking trip and found this delightful place in a Google search. Their menu sounded fantastic so I knew I had to stop in and try it. The food was excellent and our server was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is homey since it actually is an old colonial-style home converted into a restaurant. I would definitely stop in again on future trips.

This place is fantastic! The food is always delicious and the service is great. We tried the bacon collard cheese dip as an appetizer and it was so good. The homemade chips for dipping just made it. As always their shrimp and grits were spot on.

Excellent local restaurant in quaint downtown Canton with free public parking lot right across the street. Located in an old Victorian style hotel, the restaurant has tons of character and charm. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone. While I typically am not a fan of what I call “New South” restaurants, this one is an exception. Pimento cheese graces many dishes, and there are interesting “updated” forms of classic Southern favorites, but they are not over done. Even more surprisingly, they are not overpriced! A drawback is the wait time. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly & helpful. Full bar with knowledgeable tender. Very nice restrooms. I had the BBQ Grilled Cheese, which was rather rich, but not too spicy. I did have to use a fork and knife to eat it, however. My husband had the Meatloaf, which was very unique and tasty. Fried okra was crispier than most places, which is to my taste. Beautiful patio and porch seating. I definitely plan to be back to try some of the other menu items.
